Required Access & Safety Trainings for Users
Required Access:
- SPS ring and transfer lines (Permission 'SPS')
- POINT7 SPS / BA7 (Permission ‘OC7’)
In order to get that access, you need the following trainings on CERN:
- Electrical Safety – Awareness – Facilities
- Electrical Safety – Awareness – Fundamentals
- CERN – Beam Facilities
- SPS – Machine / SPS – Machine
- Radiation Protection – Awareness
- Radiation Protection – Controlled Area
- Radiation Protection – Supervised Area
- Emergency Evacuation
- Safety at CERN
- Computer Security
- IMPACT fundamentals
- Self-Rescue Mask (only refresher course necessary, if training expired)
- A personal dosimeter (external users need to bring a medical certificate and a personal dosimeter issued by their home institute)
For more detailed information (step by step how-to) on the required access & courses, please consult EDMS 1154948. Moreover, before entering the underground areas, users have to consult the appropriate access procedure (EDMS: 1155061) and escape procedure (EDMS: 1153056).

HiRadMat Users Meeting
Every two weeks (Friday, 15:30 @ 530/R-030) a HiRadMat Users Meeting is scheduled for addressing several issues by the users & the experiments. Communication with the users is being done through the hiradmat-users@cern.ch e-group (are you a member?).
