Required Access & Safety Trainings for Users

Required Access:

  • SPS ring and transfer lines (Permission 'SPS')
  • POINT7 SPS / BA7 (Permission ‘OC7’)

In order to get that access, you need the following trainings on CERN:

  1. Electrical Safety – Awareness – Facilities
  2. Electrical Safety – Awareness – Fundamentals
  3. CERN – Beam Facilities
  4. SPS – Machine / SPS – Machine
  5. Radiation Protection – Awareness
  6. Radiation Protection – Controlled Area
  7. Radiation Protection – Supervised Area
  8. Emergency Evacuation
  9. Safety at CERN
  10. Computer Security
  11. IMPACT fundamentals
  12. Self-Rescue Mask (only refresher course necessary, if training expired)
  13. A personal dosimeter (external users need to bring a medical certificate and a personal dosimeter issued by their home institute)

For more detailed information (step by step how-to) on the required access & courses, please consult EDMS 1154948. Moreover, before entering the underground areas, users have to consult the appropriate access procedure (EDMS: 1155061) and escape procedure (EDMS: 1153056).
